13 June 2011

A memorandum of understanding announced today will see Westinghouse discuss a range of work with Bulgarian Energy Holding, from life extension at Kozloduy nuclear power plant to matters involving the fuel cycle and new build. Jordan Georgiev, the head of BEH, put the work in terms of nuclear safety and security, saying the collaboration "will contribute to obtain an objective assessment of the possibilities for life extension of units 5 and 6 at Kozloduy, as well as assessment in view of achievement of a sound process of decommissioning of the first four units of the plant already shut down."
