Huaneng Group consolidates nuclear stake

Controlling ownership of the under-construction Changjiang nuclear power plant in Hainan province has been transferred within Huaneng Group. The move of a 30% stake in Hainan Nuclear Power, and therefore its four forthcoming reactors, is part of an overall strategy to consolidate all energy-related holdings within Huaneng Power International rather than have them separately held within the Huaneng Group. With controlled generation capacity of several types amounting to 50,033 MWe and equity-based generation capacity of 46,512 MWe, Huaneng Power is one of China's largest listed power producers.
