Australia-based Greenland Minerals Limited has requested arbitration proceedings in its dispute with the governments of Greenland and Denmark concerning the impact of new legislation banning uranium mining on its exploration licence for the Kvanefjeld rare earths project in southern Greenland.

China's Shenghe Resources Holding Co Ltd - the largest shareholder in Greenland Minerals Ltd - has formed a joint venture company with subsidiaries of China National Nuclear Corporation for the trading and processing of rare earth minerals. The creation of the joint venture supports the development of Greenland's Kvanefjeld Project.
