Langer Heinrich begins uranium shipments

16 March 2007

[Paladin, Reuters, 16 March] Paladin Resources Ltd officially opened its Langer Heinrich uranium mine in Namibia on 15 March. A ceremony to mark the opening was attended by Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba, the country's Minister of Mines, E Nghimtina, and some 200 other guests. Pohamba said his government will advocate the use of uranium for peaceful purposes in any country where the Namibian uranium is exported. He also said Namibia will consider using uranium for energy generation purposes. Paladin's chairman, Rick Crabb, said that the first shipment of uranium from the mine would leave the port of Walvis Bay on 17 March, bound for a US uranium conversion facility.
