New Rosatom chief states aims in meeting with Medvedev

Alexey Likhachov, the new director general of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, has told the country's prime minister that Rosatom's portfolio of foreign orders is expected to reach $137 billion by the end of this year, up from $110 billion at the end of 2015. Likhachov spoke with Dmitry Medvedev on 11 October, according to a statement on the Russian government’s website.
Rosatom is constructing nuclear power units in nine countries, Likhachov said, adding that Russia has signed intergovernmental agreements on the construction of four more. Likhachov also told Medvedev that Rosatom's revenue is expected to be RUB805 billion ($12.9 billion) this year.
Gross energy output from Russian nuclear power plants had reached 145.2 terawatt hours (TWh) by 10 October and Likhachov said he aims to exceed the target for this year of 196.7 TWh and produce 200 TWh.
Likhachov, formerly deputy minister of economic development and trade, took over from Rosatom director general Sergey Kirienko last week, when Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Kirienko as first deputy head of the Presidential Administration with immediate effect. Kirienko had been in charge of Rosatom since December 2007.
