Iran welcomes nuclear tourists

[IranMania, 6 September] Visas will be granted to foreigners interested in visiting Iran's nuclear sites, said the country's Vice President, Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei, but there are limits. "We cannot accommodate crowds of people who want to pay a visit to nuclear sites like they visit historical sites," Rahim-Mashaei told the press. "Nuclear facilities cannot be interesting to ordinary people," he added. Officials would prefer that people with background knowledge, such as journalists or "experts" would apply to visit but, "we have reached an agreement with Iran's Atomic Energy Organization and the Foreign Ministry, and if there are people asking for a tour, it can be done," said Rahim-Masahaei.
