[AFP, CTK, 23 May] Operations at the state-owned Dolni Rozinka (Rozna) uranium mine in the Vysocina region of the Czech Republic will continue for an indefinite period, the country's government decided on 23 May. Mining activities at the underground mine were only guaranteed until 2008 under a previous decision. Diamo, which oversees uranium mining, will submit an annual economic benefit report and production will continue as long as it remains profitable. The Rozna mine was due to close in 2003, but has been extended due to rising uranium prices. In early 2007, Australia's Uran Ltd made a $30 million offer to take a 50% stake in the Rozna mine, but this was rejected.
