European uranium smugglers caught

Two were seized in Slovakia and one in Hungary after a jointoperation by the two countries lasting several months. Two wereHungarian citizens, the other Ukrainian. Slovak deputy police presidentMichal Kopcik told a press conference that the powdered uraniummaterial amounted to less than half a kilogram (1.1 lb). Kopcik saidthe gang was trying to sell the uranium powder for $3500 per gram.
