Palisades gets licence renewal

[NRC, 17 January] The operating licence for the Palisades nuclear power plant in Michigan, USA, has been renewed for an additional 20 years by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The plant is now licensed to operate until 24 March 2031. The 798 MWe pressurised water reactor is operated by Nuclear Management Company (NMC) on behalf of owner Consumers Energy, which recently agreed to sell the plant to Entergy Corp for $380 million.
