Proposed Idaho plant could co-generate ethanol
Friday, 12 January 2007
[AEHI, 14 December] The proposed nuclear power plant near Bruneau, Idaho, USA, could be used to co-generate ethanol, Alternate Energy Holdings Inc (AEHI) announced. The plant – originally requested by the Rural River Co-op to help with local farmers' irrigation needs – could provide its surplus heat to a plant that would produce ethanol from locally-produced grain. AEHI is discussing the project with RM Enterprises LLC, a Boise-based agricultural and ethanol consultancy. AEHI signed a letter of intent on 1 December to construct, own and operate a modular 1500 MWe light water reactor near Bruneau.
