Rolls-Royce buys US reactor services provider

UK engineering company Rolls-Royce has acquired US-based specialist reactor services provider R Brooks Associates for an undisclosed sum in a further step towards growing its civil nuclear business. Brooks supplies niche inspection and recovery solutions for the core of the nuclear steam supply system, and is described by Rolls-Royce as a market leader in secondary steam generation inspections in the US with a well-established presence in France. Lawrie Haynes, president-nuclear at Rolls-Royce, said the investment was "a further step towards growing our global civil nuclear business."
