Suez and CEA sign cooperation agreement

[Suez, CEA, 17 July] French energy trading company Suez and France's Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) have signed a five-year agreement to cooperate in research and development in the nuclear energy sector. The agreement, which can be renewed for three-year periods, covers: research and studies on Generation-IV power reactors; improvement of reactor performance and security; and, radioactive waste management and decommaissioning. Suez owns and operates the Doel and Tihange nuclear power plants in Belgium, as well as having 1100 MWe of capacity at the Tricastin and Chooz plants in France.
