Australia agrees to supply uranium to Ukraine
Julie Bishop, the Australian foreign minister, yesterday signed an agreement with Ukrainian energy and coal industry minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn that clears the way for Australia to export uranium to Ukraine.

GoviEx Uranium and Denison Mines join forces in Africa
GoviEx Uranium Inc and Denison Mines Corp have announced the execution of a definitive share purchase agreement to combine their respective African uranium mineral interests and create "the leading Africa-focused uranium development company".

Denison retains Canadian focus
Denison Mines will focus on its activities in Canada's Athabasca Basin in 2016, according to the company's end-of-year analysis. The company sold its Mongolian assets in December and hopes to spin out or sell its African portfolio when market conditions permit.

Khan reaches settlement deal with Mongolia
The Mongolian government has agreed to pay Khan Resources $70 million to end a dispute over its 2009 cancellation of the Canadian mining company's uranium licences. Mongolia had been seeking to overturn a ruling by an international arbitration tribunal that it must pay $100 million in compensation.

Paladin Energy reduces loss, confirms CEO appointment
Paladin Energy has reported a net loss after tax of $22.9 million for the six months to 31 December 2015, which is a 66% improvement on its loss of $67.2 million a year earlier. As well as announcing its half-year and quarterly results yesterday, the Perth-based, African-focused uranium miner said it had appointed Alexander Molyneux as CEO following his six-month stint as interim head.

Fox Lake debuts in Cameco quarterly report
UPDATED Cameco has reported resource figures for the Fox Lake uranium deposit for the first time, at the end of a quarter which also saw the company write down CAD 210 million ($151 million) related to its Rabbit Lake operation.

Rosgeologia identifies 'promising' U deposits in North-West Russia
Rosgeologia, the Russian state-run geological exploration services company, has identified "promising" uranium deposits in the North-West Federal District of Russia. The announcement yesterday followed completion of a survey of the Kuol-Panayarvinskaya area on the border of the Murmansk region and the Republic of Karelia.

CGN Mining and Fission Uranium announce agreements
CGN Mining and Fission Uranium Corporation have entered into agreements that will see CGN Mining take a 19.9% share in the Canada-based resource company and purchase up to 35% of annual production from the Patterson Lake South project.
