Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (LNNP) is to take over completely the management of the Leningrad Phase II nuclear power plant construction project in western Russia by the end of October. Rosenergoatom, which operates all of Russia's civil nuclear power plants, ordered the transfer on 17 April.

Rosenergoatom has reportedly postponed construction of the BN-1200 sodium-cooled fast neutron reactor at the Beloyarsk nuclear power plant "indefinitely" on the need to improve fuel for the reactor and amid speculation about the cost-effectiveness of the project.
