Energy Future Holdings (EHF) is the new company formed by the 10 October completion of the $45 billion merger of TXU Corp with Texas Energy Future Holdings Partnership (TEF) - itself a group led by investors Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) and Texas Pacific Group (TPG). Shares in TXU have ceased trading, their owners to receive $69.25 in exchange as the company becomes part of the privately-owned EHF. Donald Evans, a former US secretary of commerce, will serve chair of EHF's board which also includes former secretary of state James Baker and William Reilly, chairman emeritus of the World Wildlife Fund. The holding company will operate three distinct businesses: TXU Energy, an electricity retailer headed by Jim Burke; Luminant, a generator led by Mike Green; and Oncor, a regulated transmission and distribution company with Bob Shapard as CEO. Luminant has 18,400 MWe of capacity in Texas, USA including 2300 MWe of nuclear at Comanche Peak.
