Beloyarsk sportsmen excel in competitions

[Rosatom, 12 September] Sportsmen from the Beloyarsk nuclear power plant in the Sverdlovsk region of Russia were victorious at a number of all-Russia tournaments during the summer, including athletics, speed skating, motorboating and sky-surfing. Employees from the lakeside plant, competing as part of a Rosenergoatom team, won the Motor Boating Championship of Russia, taking an individual race championship, two silver and four bronze medals. In speed skating, Beloyarsk workers won races at the Summer Cup of Russia, as well as at the Summer Cup of Ural. The Sky Surfing Cup of Russia was also won by a Rosenergoatom-Beloyarsk NPP team. Gold and silver medals were also won by Beloyarsk athletes at the International Issyk Kul Games. The Beloyarsk plant said that it "gives high priority to physical culture and recreation and financially supports its teams and sportsmen." A fast-breeder reactor operates at Beloyarsk, another is under construction.
