Hong Kong-based international supply chain specialist Noble Group has acquired 5.13% of US uranium enrichment company USEC. Noble acquired a total of 5,848,940 USEC shares for $30.2 million over the period 25 May to 2 June 2010, according to USEC's 7 June filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Noble describes itself as "a market leader in managing the global supply chain of agricultural, industrial and energy products." It lists raw materials and natural resources ranging from coal, coffee and carbon credits to soybeans, sugar and steel in its diversified portfolio, but not nuclear interests. The purpose of the purchase is described as an "investment".
