Nuclear security for Olympic site

02 September 2009

The Olympic Park for the 2014 winter games in Sochi, Russia will be kept secure by equipment supplied by the Dedal Complex. The company was recognised among eight bidders as the only one capable of fitting out the huge site in the required two-month window. The system will include a perimeter surveillance system for the site, which stretches across some 12 kilometres and includes six checkpoints. "Dedal's victory has reconfirmed the efficiency of the security systems of Russia's nuclear industry," said state giant AtomEnergoProm which owns the company along with 88 others and counts a whopping 175,000 employees. Officials at last year's Beijing summer games were kept safe from fire by equipment installed by China Institute of Atomic Energy's Electronic Instrument Factory.
