The Republic of Burundi and Russia have signed a memorandum of cooperation on peaceful uses of nuclear technology. It was signed as the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum takes place in St Petersburg.

UK-based nuclear fusion company Tokamak Energy and Japan's Sumitomo Corporation have agreed to collaborate on the development, implementation and scaling-up of commercial fusion energy in Japan and worldwide.

Sweden's radioactive waste management company Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB has signed a collaboration agreement with construction firm Skanska regarding the expansion of the existing SFR final repository for low and intermediate-level waste at Forsmark.

TerraPower and Centrus Energy Corp have signed a memorandum of understanding to significantly expand their collaboration aimed at establishing commercial-scale, US production capabilities for high-assay, low-enriched uranium to supply TerraPower's first-of-a-kind Natrium reactor and energy storage system.

Norsk Kjernekraft and Denmark's Seaborg have signed a letter of intent to investigate the deployment of Seaborg's compact molten salt reactor in Norway.

France and India are to launch a cooperation programme on small modular reactors and advanced modular reactors. The announcement came after a meeting in Paris between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of France Emmanuel Macron, during which they noted progress made on the six-EPR power plant project in Jaitapur, India.

Among the agreements signed during a Polish-Korean business forum on 14 July was a memorandum of understanding between Poland's KGHM Polska Miedź SA and South Korea's Samsung C&T Corporation on the implementation of low and zero-emission technologies, including small modular reactors. Daewoo Engineering & Construction signed an MoU with Polish construction firm ERBUD to carry out new projects in the country, including the construction of nuclear power plants.

A number of nuclear energy-related agreements were among the 33 memorandums of understanding signed between South Korean and Polish companies during the Korea-Poland Business Forum in Warsaw.

The energy ministers of Ukraine and Bulgaria have signed a memorandum of understanding to "deepen cooperation" in the energy sector, including "participation in joint projects and initiatives involving joint activities in the field of nuclear energy".

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and SN Nuclearelectrica have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in nuclear fuel as part of their strategies to "further develop fuel processing and ensure the resilience of fuel production capabilities".
