Contract for recycled fuel for Chinese Candus
Canada's SNC-Lavalin is to supply its 37M Natural Uranium Equivalent fuel - a mixture of depleted and recycled uranium - to units 1 and 2 of the Qinshan Phase III nuclear power plant in China's Zhejiang province.

Cameco shutdown extended indefinitely
Cameco is extending the suspension of production at McArthur River and Key Lake "for an indeterminate duration", CEO Tim Gitzel has announced. The operations have been out of production since January.

L3 MAPPS, Terrestrial team for IMSR simulation
Canada's L3 MAPPS and Terrestrial Energy have signed an agreement to develop real-time simulation for Terrestrial's Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR). Terrestrial aims to commercialise the modular reactor design.

Ontario Power Generation starts rebuilding Darlington 2
Work has begun to reassemble Darlington unit 2, Ontario Power Generation announced yesterday. The 878 MWe Candu unit is the first of Darlington's four reactors to undergo refurbishment to enable it to operate for a further 30 years.
